Kesar Mango – “The Queen of Mangoes”

Origin:

  • Native to Gir, Gujarat, India.

  • First cultivated in the foothills of Girnar in the Junagadh district.

  • Named “Kesar” (meaning saffron) for its deep golden-orange pulp.

Climate & Growing Conditions:

  • Thrives in tropical to subtropical climates.

  • Requires hot, dry weather during flowering and fruiting.

  • Ideal temperature: 24°C – 32°C.

  • Best grown in well-drained, sandy loam soil with a pH of 6.0–7.5.

  • Planting season: Monsoon onset (June–August) in India.

Tree & Fruit Characteristics:

  • Tree: Medium-sized, strong branches, dense canopy.

  • Fruit Shape: Oval to slightly round.

  • Skin Color: Golden-yellow when ripe.

  • Pulp: Rich, deep saffron-orange, smooth and fibreless.

  • Average Fruit Weight: 200–300 g.

  • Flavor: Sweet, aromatic, slightly tangy.

  • Shelf Life: Good (keeps fresh for up to 2 weeks in cool storage).

Harvest & Availability:

  • Harvest season: May to July.

  • First yield: 3–4 years after planting (grafted plants).

  • Peak flavor is reached when naturally ripened on the tree.

  • Delivery in 7–15 days, depending on the destination and customs clearance. International live plants are sent as bare-root plants — no soil and leaves — with safe packing and secure delivery.

    All plants are shipped in secure, eco-friendly packaging to protect them during transit. Tracking details will be shared once your order is dispatched.

Return Information

At Kerala Garden, we ensure every plant is healthy and carefully packed before shipping.

• Live Plants: Due to the perishable nature of plants, we do not accept returns. However, if your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photos. We will offer a replacement or store credit (no cash refunds).

• Seeds & Non-Perishable Items: Can be returned within 7 days of delivery in unused condition.

• International Orders: No returns accepted due to customs restrictions. However, if your plant is damaged in transit, we will send you replacement plants with your next order.
